Established in 1998, the Center for Health Economics and Policy Studies (CHEPS) at the Faculty of Public Health Univeritas Indonesia was aimed to fulfill the needs of economics and policy studies in health development and services. Health economics has become more important in Indonesia for the National Social Security System and the introduction of a National Health Insurance (JKN) in 2014. CHEPS aims to share ideas to solve health-related problems and provide real contributions to improve international, national and local health systems. CHEPS regularly advises governments and policymakers, and is a leading influence on Indonesia health policy, helping the way society thinks about health and health care. The goals of the CHEPS programme align with the overall objectives of the HFACT project in seeking to establish UHC for all.
