Fundação Instituto de Pesquisas Econômicas – Fipe is a non-profit organization governed by private law, created in 1973. Among its objectives is to support teaching and research institutions, public or private, in particular the Department of Economics of the Faculty of Economics, Administration and Accounting at the University of São Paulo (FEA-USP). Today, it has outstanding performance in the areas of teaching, projects, research and development of economic and financial indicators.

Fipe analyzes economic and social phenomena based on the theoretical and methodological instruments of economics, with the aim of contributing to:

  • the debate of Brazil’s economic and social problems and the expansion of economic knowledge;
  • the design of more efficient public and private contracts;
  • the production of knowledge, data and high added value solutions;
  • the formulation of economic policies and other public policies aimed at increasing well-being;
  • economic growth, strengthening the productive system, increasing the country’s competitiveness, better income distribution and eliminating poverty;
  • the complementary training of high-level professionals through extension, improvement and postgraduate courses.

Fipe brings its expertise in working with policymakers and the health system in Brazil to contribute to the HFACT project objectives.
