In September, we launched the HFACT Seminar series, kicking off the series with research presented by Vishalie Shah (CHE), Taufik Hidayat (CHEPS) and Royasia Ramadani (CHEPS). The inaugural seminar was titled Health-related impacts of demand-side policies: evidence from Indonesia’s conditional cash transfer and national health insurance for the poor programmes. The seminar was well attended with viewers from across all HFACT partner countries.
Following the inaugural seminar, Judite Gonçalves (Imperial College) shared her research in October with a presentation titled: Do fossil fuel subsidies crowd out health expenditure? A country-level longitudinal analysis suggesting a repurposing of fossil fuel subsidies to be used towards Universal Health Coverage. Our second seminar was similarly well-received and attended.
We continue our seminar series on Tuesday 7 November, teaming up with the Global Health Team at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. Fernando Postali (FIPE) will present research on behalf of Natalia Nuñes Ferreira-Batista (FIPE). The seminar is titled: Is primary health care worth it in the long run? Evidence from Brazil. The seminar will take place via Zoom, please email Lily Green for more details if you would like to attend!
We are actively seeking speakers for the HFACT Seminar series, please be in touch if you would like to present your research! Stay tuned for more information – in December Abhiroop Mukhopadhyay will present, title TBD.
