The Institute for Health Policy Studies (IEPS) is a non-profit, independent and non-partisan organization with offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The goal of IEPS is to contribute to the improvement of public health policies in Brazil.

IEPS defends the idea that the entire Brazilian population should have access to quality healthcare and that the use of resources and the regulation of the healthcare system be as effective as possible. IEPS also defends that access to health respects the principle of equity, with the Brazilian State having a relevant role, of a distributive nature, in this process.

IEPS believes that the best way to achieve this purpose is through public policies based on evidence, designed, implemented and monitored in a transparent manner – always seeking the support of society.

IEPS’ commitment to evidence-based public policies fits well with the objectives of the HFACT project. The expertise and experience IEPS brings to HFACT will help achieve the overall project goals.
