On Tuesday 23 July 2024, the HFACT project brought together members of the HFACT Advisory Board as well as the Principal Investigators and researchers from the HFACT partners to Imperial College, London. In attendance was Professor Ali Ghufron Mukti of Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial (BPJS), Ajay Tandon of The World Bank, Matt Jowett of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Luciana Servo of the Instituto de Pesquisa Econômica Aplicada (IPEA), Girija Vaidynathan of the Ministry of Health, Tamil Nadu, and Mark Blecher of the National Treasury of South Africa.
The objective of the meeting was to seek and receive input from external advisors to stay policy relevant and to fulfil HFACT’s goal of increasing access to UHC in LMICs. We reviewed the work that has been done in the first two years of the project. We also discussed plans for the future of the HFACT project through years 3 and 4. The advisors shared their expertise and thoughts on how HFACT related research can make positive impacts towards the overall project goals. Many thanks to all those who joined us, as well as being a productive meeting it was lovely to see folks in person!
